Five Makeup Mistakes to Avoid
Not Cleaning Makeup Brushes
It’s really not the most exciting task to do, but it’s definitely one that you need to on a regular basis for hygienic purposes. When you don’t clean your makeup brushes, you’re allowing them to be the breeding grounds of bacteria. Allergic reactions, pimples, whiteheads, blackheads — does any of that sound familiar to you? Wash them once a week with soap and water to keep them looking clean and feeling soft.
Not Removing Makeup before Sleeping
When you feel too tired or too lazy to wash off the makeup from your face before going to bed, you’re actually letting harmful elements to penetrate your skin. Worse, it clogs your pores and leaves skin feeling dry and dirty, which can then cause premature aging. Plus, not cleaning all that makeup leaves your pillows dirty in the morning.
Not Blending Foundation onto Neck
Not only is it unattractive to look at, you’d end up looking like somebody Photoshopped your head onto your body. Don’t stop at your jawline. Make sure that you evenly and smoothly blend foundation on your neck and collarbone area (if you’re wearing a low neckline). Always pick a foundation that’s closest to your skin color.
Over Plucked Eyebrows
What’s the easiest way to look decades older? Over plucking your eyebrows. Go easy on the tweezers and pluck only the hairs that need to be plucked. When in doubt, let the professionals handle it.
Too Much Blush
The look that you should be aiming for is a naturally rosy and healthy blush and not bordering on clownish. Quick tip: instead of pink, pick something tan, for that rosy bronze color. And always just a little, on the apples of your cheeks.
